Résumé

Cet article décrit les recherches bio/bibliographiques que l’on doit généralement entreprendre pour comprendre l’importance de ce genre de livre sur les fortifications, ainsi que l’étude de certains de ses contenus mathématiques, incluant géométrie, trigonométrie et l’un des premiers usages de la Dismede Stevin.

Abstract

This paper describes the usual bio/bibliographical researches you need to undertake to be able to understand the real importance of this kind of book on fortification, as well as a study of some of its mathematical contents, including geometry, trigonometry, and one of the first uses of Stevin’s Tenth.
