Résumé

This article presents a study carried out over two academic years (from 2015 to 2017) in QLIO department of Evry’s IUT. It deals with mathematic teaching to non-mathematician students in the first year of the university. It analyses students’ feelings about a mathematical tool approach, which may seem natural in this context. The results show that while the tool approach has positive effects, it should not hide the object dimension, even for concepts already taught in secondary education.
