Richard Price, 1723-1791, homme d’église et statisticien anglais.
Il s’intéressa aux statistiques et se lia d’amitié avec Thomas Bayes avec qui il travailla. Ses contributions dans le domaine des statistiques lui valurent d’être élu à la Royal Society. Il publia à titre posthume les travaux de Bayes (1763) dans Un essai pour résoudre un problème dans la théorie des risques (An Essay towards solving a Problem in the Doctrine of Chances)
Il créa avec Morgan, en Angleterre en 1762, la première compagnie d’assurance vie, baptisée Equitable Society for the insurances on lives and survivors.
