Résumé

Cet article rend compte d’une expérimentation visant à améliorer la compréhension de l’intégrale définie (vue comme mesure d’une aire sous une courbe).
Inspiré par les travaux de didactique de Orton, l’auteur propose aux étudiants une suite de tâches se référant à la fois à la méthode des sommes de Riemann et à la méthode de Cavalieri-Wallis (qui intègre le rapport de Cavalieri et les techniques de Wallis).

Abstract

This paper reports on an experiment to improve the understanding of the definite integral (as a measure of an area under a curve).

Inspired by the didactic work of Orton, the author offers students a series of tasks referring to both the Riemann sums method and the Cavalieri-Wallis method (integrating the Cavalieri ratio and Wallis’ techniques).
